Resilient Youth

Resilience refers to a set of developmental assets and processes crucial to positive adaptation in contexts of high risk for negative outcomes. The chronic and cumulative effects of adversity are well-documented through population studies. The aim of our research in this area is to better understand the strengths of individuals, families and communities that support positive responses to the kinds of adversity young people experience in the Northern Territory. Developing this evidence base is crucial to our work of informing the design and evaluation of interventions that systematically promote and encourage resilience.
