Data Linkage

Joint funding from the NT Government and NHMRC has enabled the CCDE to assemble a multidisciplinary team of researchers from the NT and around the country to work on a program of research to advance scientific, policy and community understanding of the main drivers of children’s developmental outcomes in the Northern Territory. This is work is of particular relevance to NT and Australian Government “Closing the Gap” initiatives and is providing a comprehensive evidence base for the planning and coordination of policy and services across government and non-government sectors. The data linkage and analytic infrastructure developed by this research partnership is enabling population-level monitoring of key indicators of children’s health, education and social wellbeing outcomes and their determinants. It is also enabling longer-term evaluation and cost-benefit analysis of policy, services and intervention studies in ways not previously possible.
